How it's calculated

How to calculate travel costs for a job.

  1. 1

    Count the visits

How often you'll go to the site: survey, working days, material deliveries and handover.

  2. 2

    Don't forget the time

An hour in the van is an hour you don't bill. So count it at your own hourly rate.

  3. 3

    Put it in the quote

Add travel costs as a separate item or spread them into the labour price.

As a separate item in the quote (a flat fee per visit or per km) or built into the labour price. What matters is that they're covered.

Besides fuel, allow for maintenance, tyres and depreciation. For a van that's often €0.10 to €0.25 per km on top of fuel.

Save travel costs as an item (flat fee or per km) and add it to the quote in one click.
